Really fun coffee table book. Sparks fantastic conversation.

I'm a sucker for popular psychology books, but this one is a lot of fun to read and I haven't come across anything else like it. It's an eclectic mix of psychology tests, information, and history. The book starts by detailing a number of tests that aren't in use anymore. Fascinating to see how far we have come so fast with the field of psychology being so new. One of the tests they describe and have pictures of is a portrait test where you choose the picture that stands out most. The choices are a mix of troubled people with diagnosed illnesses, and the one you choose on each card (choice of 6) is supposed to tell the psychologist what you might be diagnosed with as well.There are also a number of real tests that you can take yourself, all simplified into one or two pages, and some new tests that were developed just for this book. It's really a coffee table book more than anything else, but an interesting one. Very well done, interesting look into psychology tests.

Beautiful and fascinating. My only complaint is that no one around me is as nerdy as I am, so nobody appreciates just how incredible this book is.

I love this stuff. I saw the exact book in a catalog I received in the mail for a much higher price. I checked Amazon for the heck of it and there it was for a much lower price.

Overall it's an a-okay edition, that gives a global idea of Carlo Scarpa's scope of work during his career. But if you're looking for extensive material in Scarpa's works you'll be a little disappointed: lacking of drawings (plans/sections, diagrams) that help to understand the projects, and a lack of original sketches from Scarpa himself. Another disappointment is the lack of photographic content for the Olivetti Store/Offices, or a lack of photographs of details from the iconic Brion tomb. With all this said, due its relation affordable price/ good quality print, I advise in favor of purchasing the book to all Scarpa enthusiasts.

Beautiful book on one of the most poetic architects of the 20th century. Scarpa's genius and grace is show with grace and dignity.

I recently was exposed to his work and was amazed how ahead of his time he was. A brilliant designer and his attention to detail. A beautifully photographed book.

A book can't be all things to all people. Some prior reviews criticize this book for one thing or another, but for me it is just what I was looking for. Full of large, beautiful photographs of many of Scarpa's projects, each combined with a quick history and/or walk-through.If you want more text, get McCarter's book. If you want great photographs, get Beltramini's book, or Taschen's book. Or do as I did and get them all.

Estaba en marcha la "Operación Manuel", y la Argentina, junto a otros países de América Latina, pasaría a ser víctima del más exitoso proceso de infiltración del castrismo. Poco después de la Crisis de los Misiles, y bajo el atento control de los soviéticos, representantes de los distintos movimientos revolucionarios de América Latina recibieron instrucción militar para volver a sus países de origen e instalar allí focos guerrilleros. Documentación falsa, identidades robadas, contrabando, planes de espionaje, entrenamiento físico, provisión de armas, análisis de tácticas militares. Por primera vez salen a la luz los documentos desconocidos de la Agencia de Inteligencia Checoslovaca con la información de quiénes participaron en las operaciones secretas que intentaban promover el comunismo en América. About the Author Juan Bautista "Tata" Yofre trabajó en Radio Municipal de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y en los siguientes matutinos: Los Principios de Córdoba, La Opinión (intervenido), Clarín y Ámbito Financiero. También estuvo en las redacciones de Carta Política, Movimiento y Somos. Además del periodismo gráfico, participó en numerosos programas radiales y televisivos. Entre 1969 y 1972 trabajó en el Palacio San Martín. En 1979 se fue a vivir a Washington, desempeñándose en el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y en la Organización de Estados Americanos. Volvió en 1982 e integró la redacción de la agencia Noticias Argentinas (NA), hasta que en octubre de 1984 ingresó a Ámbito Financiero, donde llegó a ser jefe de la sección Política. En julio de 1989, el presidente Carlos Saúl Menem lo designó al frente de la Secretaría de Inteligencia del Estado (SIDE). En junio de 1990 presentó cartas credenciales ante el presidente de Panamá y en 1992 hizo lo propio ante el presidente Mario Soares de Portugal. En junio de 1993 volvió al país y fue designado asesor presidencial con rango de Secretario de Estado. En febrero de 1998 renunció y poco después volvió a incorporarse a diferentes programas radiales y televisivos. En 2002 publicó Misión Argentina en Chile, 1970- 1973 (Sudamericana, Chile) y en 2006 apareció la primera versión de Nadie fue (cuya edición definitiva publicó luego Sudamericana), a los que siguieron los best-sellers Fuimos todos (2007), Volver a matar (2009), El escarmiento (2010), 1982 (2011) y La trama de Madrid (2013).
